Space Shuttle Endeavour procession on Los Angeles Street

The Space Shuttle started its journey from the Los Angeles International Airport to California Science center through the Los Angeles streets. The 122-foot-long and 57-foot height Endeavour moves at a speed of 2 mph. It comes on public streets at 2.30 am and reaches at about 9.30 pm. Its wingspan length is 78-foot and weighs about 151,205 pound. Engineers installed 2,180 steel plates to balance the weight of the shuttle while moving. Totally 100 trees, street lights, traffic signals, power poles and parking meters were removed for free moving.

By 5 a.m., a large crowd had assembled in the Sepulveda Boulevard business district at La Tijera Boulevard and Sepulveda Eastway to see the shuttle moves. This seems as a big procession. It’s an awesome experience those who see and participated in this mission.
